What is the Twenty Dollar Meal Club?
On one day per week, for the whole school year, many malnourished children at the Malasag Elementary School in the Philippines are provided with a healthy breakfast to start their day. Members of the Rotary Club of Kalayaan with the help of parents from the school provide the Breakfast. The menu varies weekly but is developed by a dietician who is a member of the Rotary Club.

The Rotary Club of Tamar Sunrise and Rotary Club of Kalayaan in Cagayan de Oro City in the Philippines have combined to adopt a depressed school in the Barangay district of Cagayan de Oro City and set up the breakfast program.
Results from the National Achievement Test highlight significant improvements on the learning and health of the school children since the feeding program was established.

Out of 69 public schools in Cagayan De Oro City, Malasag has improved its ranking from 65 to 41 since the program began.  The number of students below normal height and weight from grade 2 to 6 has dropped. As a result of these improvements, the school is no longer classified as a low performing school.

You can help by joining or continuing your membership of the "Twenty Dollar Meal Club". For just a $20.00 donation you can help to support a child in the breakfast program. The Rotary Club and our corporate sponsor St.Lukes Health, cover all administration costs. You will also receive a Certificate of Appreciation and a newsletter.
