A great vocational this week at Net 19. Thanks to cider-makers Chris and Caro Brown from Brady's Lookout Cider. Club members enjoyed the chance to learn about cider and also about blending. Susan Nolan and her super International Women's Day team also met on Thursday to talk about the upcoming event. Caro Brown headed off to Rotaract to talk about our 5th and 15th Birthday celebrations.

EVITA Don't forget we changed our Evita night to Wednesday 11 March (not 13 March as mentioned in the Planner) to work in with the Rotary Foundation fundraiser organised by RC Launceston West. Dinner at 6pm at a venue to be advised. So far we have booked tickets for Alicia, Susan, David, Warwick, Jane, Jann, Caro and Chris. Anybody else, please email [email protected] asap. Remember if you have been booked in, then it is your responsibility to pay the club (even if you are unable to go on the night) as the tickets have been locked in. Have a great week. Happy birthday to Jann, Leigh and Meg. Last week at the club we enjoyed the company of Mary from Festivale who provided an overview of what our club was required to support as part of the Information Booth at Festivale.
Congratulations to David and Lou and all the Committee of Festivale. Although the weather was not that grand, the event was as well run and enjoyable as ever. A great contribution to the local social fabric of Launceston and a fantastic attraction to the City. Thank you to all members and friends who volunteered at Festivale over the weekend. This is one of our signature support events and everyone enjoys the experience. Your smiley faces just add to the atmosphere! Thanks Clark for the one minute overview of "O" Week at Uni - wish I was back there. Form filling was also the requirement of the meeting with a "get to know you" form that Leigh was no doubt share with us over the 2015-16 year. This week, we are making a flying visit to NET 19 located at Shop 6, 17-19 Abbott Street East Launceston for a vocational visit with a difference. Marcus and Emma Courtney are Louis' first host family at Tamar Sunrise and we are grateful to them for their support. David will be picking up Louis every week for breakfast - thanks David. Clark is our one minute speaker this week. Danny and Susan are our Rotaract visitors for February. Festivale Roster 13-15 February 2015 Festivale is almost upon us. If you have some time spare, can you let Toni know asap if you can assist. YOUTH PROJECTS As mentioned last year, members of Rotary intending or required to work as volunteers with children need to apply for a new type of registration (incorporating police checks) required by Government - this includes our Youth Exchange program. Working on our Governance areas, we need to consider this registration by the end of April 2015 for our members who will be involved in these programs for next year. A run sheet will be circulated this week and next week to indicate who already has these as part of their work requirements and who else we will need to consider connecting into the registration process. In the meantime, if anybody has any questions, please see Caro as she has the District Committee information on what is required. EVITA At our casual breakfast last week, members expressed an interest in a group booking in attending Evita on Friday 13 March 2015 at 8pm with a dinner before hand. Tickets are $52pp Please indicate to Caro on [email protected] if you wish to attend. We can then approach Encore for a group booking arrangement. District Conference Don't forget, you can register for District Conference 20-22 March 2015 by clicking here |
