Post Denmark GSE: Ilya Brucksch-Domanski

Last year's GSE (Group Study Exchange) representative to Denmark, Ilya spent some time with our club on Wednesday 21 February as the Club's guest speaker.  Ilya shared with the club some of the highlights from the experience both culturally and professionally.  A major outcome from the GSE for Ilya is the goal of completing further study.

A number of banners were presented to the club, these can be viewed on the Facebook page in the 'club banners' gallery

The presentation highlighted for the club the reasons for Ilya's selection in the team to represent Tasmania.  A great ambassador for his profession and Tasmania!    We're certainly please to have been able to sponsor Ilya for the GSE.

There are currently two inbound GSE team touring the state, one from Italy and one from Denmark.  You can follow their progress via the district's GSE webpage.

The club has supported sponsored several successful GSE representatives from Tasmania and has three members who are GSE Alumni.

We are extremely pleased that Ilya has been selected for the GSE team to Denmark later this year.  Selection was particularly difficult as there were so many high calibre candidates and the announcement was delayed until the day after the selection process.  We have been informed  that Ilya was an outsanding candidate and thoroughly deserved his selection. We hope to get to know Ilya a bit better over the next few months.

GSE this year will be travelling to Denmark, arriving on the 2 September and departing on the 7 October.  Denmark is of particular vocational interest to Ilya who is an architect here in Launceston.  The team leader is Alan Harris of RC Central Launceston.
The club has a strong association with GSE, 3 of our members are former GSE team members: Danny Gibson, Kirsty Dunphey and Melissa Carlton
