This week at Tamar Sunrise we enjoyed our changeover dinner at Rosevears Tavern. What a fantastic casual lunch. We kicked off with singing happy birthday to Warwick before heading into the "Knob Award". Congratulations must go to Lou for her achievement in being only the second person to win the award twice - a fine effort Lou!
We then commenced the changeover by acknowledging what a busy year we had. Congratulations to Leigh and the new board (Secretary - Danny, Treasurer - Judy, Domestic - Toni, International - Lou, E-media - Jane, President Elect - Susan N). I am sure you will all have a great year.
Thank you for the wonderful flowers and the massage that I can already feel!
As I mentioned in my thank you, I am proud to be a part of this great club and volunteering with you all over the last year. Together we have achieved amazing things - so it should be a great year under Leigh's leadership as we bring a gift to the world for 2015-16.
This week it will be Leigh's first meeting as Club President.
We hear from Denise Talbot who is conducting an International Days for Girls Project. This is a volunteer program that sews, packages and distributes female sanitary packs to women in over 70 third world countries.
Our member's minute is a mystery...bound to be exciting!
Louis heads off on Monday 13 August 2015 - back to France - safe journey (or should that be Bon Voyage).
Our club had an action packed meeting last week and most exciting of all we had a BIG welcome and induction for our newest member David Marszalek.
Gill and Mike Whitehouse thanked the club and host parents for supporting Louis for his exchange program. Daniel Rochford from RAW also provided an informative discussion about mental health support in our rural communities. Listening 'to our mates' is so important.
This week will be the last meeting that we have Louis with the club. So this week it is a club farewell and banner presentation. Louis will be our guest speaker as he reflects on his twelve months with Youngtown and Tamar Sunrise.
Our member's minute will be Lou Mason...hopefully she will have some humorous stories of her recent trip to Vietnam. Or...will we revisit Lamingtons?
This will be my final meeting as Club President for 2014-15. I am so proud of what a small but passionate group of people - you the members of our club - have achieved for our community over this time. You are an amazing bunch and I have been very privileged to serve you in the role of President for the year.
Thank you for all that you have done and I look forward to working with our new President Leigh and the Board for an exciting year ahead.

Thanks to all those who organised the thank you breakfast for the host parents for Louis this Saturday. It was a great event and fantastic that we did not all have to rush off. Great to see Emma, Marcus, Oliver and George over the two hours.
We will have with us Daniel Rochford from Rural Alive and Well. This will be a great discussion on a service that is vital for rural and regional communities.
Gill and Mike Whitehouse will also visit. Gill will be our member minute talking about youth exchange.
