Our club had an action packed meeting last week and most exciting of all we had a BIG welcome and induction for our newest member David Marszalek.
Gill and Mike Whitehouse thanked the club and host parents for supporting Louis for his exchange program. Daniel Rochford from RAW also provided an informative discussion about mental health support in our rural communities. Listening 'to our mates' is so important. This week will be the last meeting that we have Louis with the club. So this week it is a club farewell and banner presentation. Louis will be our guest speaker as he reflects on his twelve months with Youngtown and Tamar Sunrise. Our member's minute will be Lou Mason...hopefully she will have some humorous stories of her recent trip to Vietnam. Or...will we revisit Lamingtons? Thank you This will be my final meeting as Club President for 2014-15. I am so proud of what a small but passionate group of people - you the members of our club - have achieved for our community over this time. You are an amazing bunch and I have been very privileged to serve you in the role of President for the year. Thank you for all that you have done and I look forward to working with our new President Leigh and the Board for an exciting year ahead. "Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek." Barak Obama CHANGEOVER LUNCH Changeover lunch: Sunday 5th July - those booked for the bus leaving 12pm at Sporties are Lou, Danny, Jane, Toni, Susan D, Susan N, Judy and Jim, Clark, Jann, Leigh, Alicia, Dale, Dave and Sarah. Caro, Chris, Louis and David will meet you all at Rosevears. The bus will return at 3pm. Meals order at the bar. Bus $10 per person return. Pay at the bus at Sporties. Beware everyone, get your change out as we have the Knob Award (a.k.a. fine of the year) that David will lead. There are some very fitting and worthy candidates in line for the Award. Things to note: It's Warwick's birthday on Sunday 5th July - so we may see him at the changeover or he will be out and about celebrating his birthday! Toni and Janice are both on the mend from their recent trips to hospital and have enjoyed the flowers the club has sent. Trivia Nite: Stage Right (Danny's company) have a trivia night coming up on Saturday 15th August 2015. For those who can make the event at Summerdale and make up a table from the club, RSVP to Danny.
