Thanks to all those who organised the thank you breakfast for the host parents for Louis this Saturday. It was a great event and fantastic that we did not all have to rush off. Great to see Emma, Marcus, Oliver and George over the two hours. This week: We will have with us Daniel Rochford from Rural Alive and Well. This will be a great discussion on a service that is vital for rural and regional communities. Gill and Mike Whitehouse will also visit. Gill will be our member minute talking about youth exchange. This week we discuss our club plan for the year. We will ratify the plan and also some of the proposals that have been submitted for discussion. The club proposals will be circulated prior to the meeting by Danny today.
There is also the review of the $20 Meal Club that Lou has prepared. The project is to be authorised for another twelve months. We also have our induction for Dave coming up! Events of note: Club Changeover: Booking is for lunch on Sunday 5th July 2015 (also Warwick's birthday!!). The venue is Rosevears Waterfront Tavern. We reflected on our last twelve months and where we wish to head over the next year under Leigh's leadership. There will be some 'action' required from you all. Firstly, you are asked to read the summary of the day and provide input and comments so that your thoughts are recorded. Secondly, we ask you to consider the club projects that were endorsed for the year and thirdly, we will be asking you to consider whether there are any other projects you wish to propose through the club proposal process. This information will all be collated in readiness for our board meeting later this month. You must provide Lou/David with a receipt. Hey everyone, what a great birthday party we had with Rotaract last week. It was a fantastic night to reflect on where both clubs have come from. Special recognition to our charter members, past presidents, presidents and District Governor Elect (and Lesley) who attended. Friends, partners and members made it a great evening, particularly as we enjoyed the innovation to some classic party games organised by Susan N and Kathy. Thanks to all who organised the evening and made it the fun event it was. Now onto the 20th and 10th (well that WILL be huge!).

This week we have Kirsty from the MS Society of Tasmania join us. It will be very informative as we learn more about MS. Our member's minute is Leigh Hart. Last week we enjoyed the company of Rachel Portsmouth from Laurel House. We handed over a cheque for $600 from our International Women's Day Breakfast. Caro and Louis (Exchange Student) also visited Rotaract. Tony Butler from Rotaract was pleased to hear that our club was supporting his application to RYLA. Rotaract were committing $100 towards his sponsorship. Rotaract are looking forward to our joint birthday celebrations in May. Last week, the club had a discussion on our international program in the Philippines. We talked about the proposal that Kalayaan Club has requested us to consider. A small committee from the club is to consider the proposal and refer back to the club for a final recommendation. The sub-committee for the Cocktail party for September also met on Thursday. We are excited to have Rachel with us as we learn more about this wonderful support service that formed part of our International Women's Day Breakfast.
